"Made in a month for the 3rd Lospec jam on Itch and Newgrounds with these restrictions:
"- 256x144 resolution (scaled up to 1280x720 for technical reasons)
"- 48 colour palette
"- single touch input (however left click, enter key and space also simulate this for convenience sake)
"- 16x16 sprites
"In a world where almost everyone has an elemental power in some way, shape or form, you play as The Element of Liquorice as she tracks down and manipulates three ex-superheroes working minimum wage jobs, into re-forming just so she can easily capture them as part of her new job as a supervillain in a really petty organisation. This is one big joke me and my brother came up with that I spent way too much effort on so please don't take this seriously.
"Liquorice is also known as "licorice", if you're American."

I made this in just under a month with 2 all nighters when I was getting worried that I wouldn't get it in time for the game jam's deadline.

I got the elemental idea after looking at the colour pallete once the fake specs for the Lospec released, some thinking and talking with my brother later and remembering that idea of rebooting some webcomic I made back in 2022 so I set it in that reboot idea world. I thought it'll be funnier if the elemental powers are just really specific things which aren't impressive on their own and my brother came up with the land elevation idea as Mount Yoshino has a bunch of cherry blossom trees on it and the sea is well, below sea level.

I was originally going to make it some kind of rhythm game but couldn't think of a way to make it with the single touch input and not be a Rhythm Heaven clone so I scrapped it for the much easier to code visual novel format. I learned quite a lot about Dialogic 2 while making this, such as all the backgrounds and animations being on the same scene and every time the animation changes, another scene is called so in total there's 35 scenes for the animation.
